About Flora Harris

Flora's interest in horses started from an early age, and she participated in the normal pony club activities, (with little success!!) before becoming interested in eventing when she was 15.

As a junior Flora produced her own horse young horse Lost Prophet, up to international junior level. Flora and Lost Prophet produced some strong results including 3rd at the u18 National Championships. They also twice represented Great Britain; at Necarne Castle in Ireland and Avenches in Switzerland.

In 2007 Flora was a member of the Great Britain Young Rider squad, and competed at the Young Rider European Championships at Blair Castle in Scotland riding Jessica Colson's Double Image II. Flora and Double Image were also placed 6th in the U21 National Championships and had numerous top results in Young Rider International Trials. Double Image is now retired to stud and has already bred a smart yearling colt; “Just Imagine” by Wish Upon a Star.

In 2009 Flora had a hugely successful trip to Portugal, becoming runner up at Vale Sabroso International and gaining top ten places on all her rides at Barocca D'Alva. She then returned home on and continued her success with top ten finishes at Sommerly Park International, and a win in the Young Rider International Trial at Belton aboard her current top ride Law Choice. This win was unfortunately followed by an injury when Flora was bucked off a young horse and broke her leg which ended the season a little prematurely.

During the past two seasons Flora has begun to prove herself against the sports seasoned professionals. In 2010 she came back from injury and had a number of top results throughout her string across all the levels. These included 5th at Barrocca D’Alva CIC***, 6th and best U25 at Chatsworth CIC*** and overall 4th and runner up in the 2010 U25 National Championships at Bramham CCI***.  She also fought off strong competition to win the Express Eventing International Cup at The Royal Festival of the Horse, Stoneleigh. She also jumped two horses clear around Blenheim CCI/CIC***. Flora’s first CCI**** at Badminton 2011 was a huge success with a competitive dressage test followed by quick clear round cross country, despite being held for nearly half an hour on the course due to another riders injury.

Flora is unfailingly competitive and dedicated, she is lucky enough to be supported by a wonderful team and be in the most ideal location with top class facilities. Her ambitions are to be a consistent member of Team GB, gaining longevity within her career and winning at the very top level including the Rolex Grand slam and the Olympic Games.
